hello we are, the great divide, or great divide, or a great divide, or græt divide, or a græt divide.  names are stupid.  but bands on major labels like atlantic country recording artists The Great Divide don't think that.  they are really good though.  they're american.  they have pickups and ten gallon hats.  they hunt for sport and are in touch with the important problems that plague our country.  like, "how come they don't make McDonalds drive through for full sized trucks?"  but they can't help it, like i said before, "they're american."  enough of that.

if you click on these 7" pictures, you will be able to read reveiws of the 7" records.

This was our first 7" recording as a band.  We recorded it in the fall of 1997 at the house of faith with Bart Thurber, in Oakland.  It was a fun time and all the people enjoyed talking about how much the record reminded them of when they used to be a kid.  I found that the record provided more of an option for improvement than and end in itself.  It is a fun record to listen to and I enjoy a good chuckle when they sing along.  "Red on Red.. Red Red"

This was our second 7" recording and again we recorded with Bart Thurber in Oakland at the house of faith.  I like this 7" a lot more and I feel it better reflects us as a band.  We recorded it in the spring of 1998 and again it was a fun time.  It got a lot better response from the people and we were able to sell a few.  We will have these for a while since distribution of 7"s is never an easy deal.  Distribution warehouses and record sales centers do not like the 7" format.  They fall behind couches, get stolen by rats and elves, and are an all out sometimes silly format.

that is why we are going to continue with this progression and record a full length.  someone has agreed to help us in this venture and in the future you will be able to buy a listening unit that has more songs than on a 7" listening unit.

Our CD titled a great divide will be put out on Frenetic Records. It will come out in the near future.

thanks
